Primary School in Britain

British children have to go to school until they are 16 years old. It is free for all children from 5 to 16 to have education.

The school year runs from September to July and is 39 weeks long. Children can have some long school holidays: 2 weeks for Christmas, 2 weeks for the spring, and 6 weeks for the summer.

Most schools ask children to wear a school uniform to school. Every day school begins at near 9:00 in the morning and ends at about 4:00 in the afternoon. Children have 6 classes a day. They have subjects just like we have in China. Of course, they usually don’t have Chinese lessons.
