US Business Cultures


Doing business in the US could be quite different. Here are some tips.


1. Business Dressing. Most of the large companies ask their workers to wear formal dresses. Some have uniforms of their own. Of course some companies don’t have such strict standards. Their workers could wear jeans in office.

2. Business Hours. The normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. to 5 or 9 p.m., with a 30 to 60 minute lunch break.

3. Punctuality. Being on time is a very important rule. Do arrive on time to any meeting. If you have to be late, make a call to your boss.

4. Greetings. For business meetings, you should begin and end with a firm handshake. Look confidently into his eyes and show sincerity when someone is speaking to you.
